That\u2019s right, homemade pizza. Making pizza is arguably one of my favourite dinners because it\u2019s easy and versatile. My boyfriend and I make them often, and it\u2019s great because we have different food preferences (he loves meat and I love veggies), so we can even have personal pizzas if we wish! Here\u2019s the formula on how to make perfect homemade pizza.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Easy + Healthy Homemade Pizza<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Step 1) The crust.<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You have two choices here: make your own or buy them premade. To make your own, follow <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marthastewart.com\/332275\/basic-pizza-dough\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">these instructions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (via Martha Stewart). For premade, buy them <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spud.ca\/catalogue\/catalogue.cfm?op=S2&amp;S=1&amp;W=1&amp;sterm=pizza%20crust&amp;S_CG=&amp;S_OP=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Step 2) Your sauce. <\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on what kind of pizza you make, your sauce will vary. Here are some options:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spud.ca\/catalogue\/catalogue.cfm?op=S2&amp;S=1&amp;W=1&amp;sterm=tomato%20paste&amp;S_CG=&amp;S_OP=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tomato-based<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spud.ca\/catalogue\/catalogue.cfm?op=S2&amp;S=1&amp;W=1&amp;sterm=pesto&amp;S_CG=&amp;S_OP=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pesto<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">White\/cream sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The smart thing to do here is to pick your type of pizza, and then choose the sauce. If you want something meat or veggie laden, then maybe tomato is your best bet. If you want something with kale and mushrooms, then pesto or a white sauce is a good choice. If you\u2019re out of sauce, olive oil works well with nearly everything. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Step 3) Your toppings.<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since you\u2019ve picked your sauce, I\u2019m assuming you already have an idea of your toppings. Here are a variety of topping combos you can go with:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The Pesto, Mushroom, And Kale.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Great guess! This <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">does <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have pesto, mushroom, and kale on it. It\u2019s great with parmesan, or if you\u2019re vegan, nutritional yeast. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The \u201cEvery Veggie Imaginable\u201d Za.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Basically whichever veggies you can find in your fridge. I like peppers, broccoli, kale, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc. Top with mozza, or if you\u2019re vegan, non-dairy cheese. This works well with a tomato based sauce. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The Meat Lover. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yep, as you can probably guess, this involves lots of meat. Salami, sausages, bacon\u2026 they all work. Pick your poison. This is also good with a tomato based sauce. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The Hawaiian.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Personally, I\u2019m not a fan of Hawaiian pizza (to me it\u2019s one of those things that should have never been created, kind of like that time Heinz made purple ketchup), but for some reason people love it. You know the drill: tomato sauce + ham + pineapple + cheese. Easy as (pizza) pie. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During this step, make sure to add your toppings first and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">then <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your cheese. I go heavy on the cheese here, but you do you. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Step 4) Bake. <\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ideally, pizza stones are great for this, but not all of us are made of money. A regular pan (or an upside-down sheet pan!) will do. If you made your crust from scratch, then bake your za at 400 F for about 25-30 minutes, OR 500 for about 10 minutes. You don\u2019t have to be strict here: just take the pizza out when the cheese melts and the crust is golden. If you have a pre-made crust, follow the instructions on the package. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Step 5) Eat up! <\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You did it! Your homemade pizza night was a success and the whole fam loved it. Time to schedule your next pizza night.
